From the Proprietor
“I wanna say thanks to all the peeps and businesses from all over that either donated money or goods, the bands that played and all the people who worked hard to make Jerry’s benefit a success. It gives me some hope that there are still some decent people left in the world that give a shit. It brought a lot of people together that normally wouldn’t be. This can’t replace the loss of a great friend, but atleast something positive came out of this. I got to see a lot of old friends from all over the country and reunite with some people also. The bands that played the show were awesome. So many great sets and a good variety of bands. As the philosopher Jimmy Rose said “This one counted so everyone played their best”! Everyone that ran the raffle and door did a great job as well. THE GRAND TOTAL WE HAVE IS $9869 which is amazing. Way over what we expected and the money is still coming in. It will all be going directly to his family!”
***If you want to donate to Jerry’s memorial fund but cannot make the show next Friday – you can paypal email@example.com with the subject being “Jeremy Malafa Donation”. If you want, we can mail you an item donated by one of the local businesses.***
On Friday February 11th, starting at 6 pm, we will be being throwing a huge benefit for Jeremy aka “Jerry” aka “Southern Jay” for his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by so many. Our main goal is to cover all funeral expenses for his family!
Jerry was one of my closest friends for many years. We shared many great memories and helped each other out a lot. He was always there for me and vice versa. He helped through some rough times in my life. I can’t imagine my life or this bar without him. I have no one to tease and fuck with anymore. He meant a lot to a lot of people. He was full of life, That moron had more character in him than 20 people put together. There is no other person in the universe like Jerry. He would help out anyone he knew without even hesitating. He was a great skateboarder, a tatto artist, a welder, a mechanic and a bunch of other stuff. He loved motorcycles, Natural Light, guns, shitty horror movies and loved his records. He had a great sense of humor and a smirk that I could see from 50 feet away. I will miss that smile for the rest of my life. He had a tough exterior at times, but he was as nice of a person as they come. I have been very impressed with the number of people reaching out and wanting to help. This is the best we can do to make the going easier. WE ALL LOVE YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!
